After Noida Politician Case, BJP Youth Leader Punches Ex-Serviceman in His Shop in MP’s Rewa

After the arrest of a Noida-based politician, Shrikant Tyagi, over a social media video abusing and assaulting a woman, another Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) leader was arrested on Tuesday after a video of him of beating a retired army man at his saloon landlord in Madhya Pradesh. Reva District has gone viral video.

CCTV footage shows youth leader Rituraj Chaturvedi and his accomplice entering a shop belonging to Dinesh Mishra located in the Amhiya police station area on Monday evening. The two men slap and kick Mishra and ransack her store.

After the video went viral, police registered a case and began searching for the accused. Rewa Police Additional Superintendent Anil Sonkar said a case had been filed against the accused and the matter was being investigated.

Reportedly, the youth leader had an old argument with the store operator. No arrests have been made so far.

Meanwhile, Mishra in his FIR said Chaturvedi and two others came to his store and started beating him without any provocation. They also ransacked stores and damaged items. He further stated that he could have retaliated but did not respond to the assault.

Mishra also claimed that police officers were present at the scene but did not intervene and instead escorted the Chaturvedi to his home. He alleged that the police only taped the case after video of the incident emerged on social media.

BJYM is the youth wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). BJP Rewa District Chairman Ajay Singh said Rituraj Chaturvedi was working as BJYM Town Chairman. “We will take action against him because his name was in the assault case,” he told PTI.

This is the second such incident of abuse of authority involving BJP-linked youth leaders in the past week.

The incident came to light after fugitive politician Shrikant Tyagi was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly abusing and assaulting a woman for opposing her alleged illegal constructions at a housing company in Noida. After videos of the incident went viral on social media and were convicted, an FIR was filed on Friday and Tyagi was convicted under section 354 of the Indian Penal Code (assault or use of criminal force against a woman, intending to outrage or knowing it was likely). that he will thus outrage his modesty).

Tyagi claimed to be the national executive member of BJP’s Kisan Morcha and national coordinator of his Yuva Samiti, although the ruling party denied any connection to him. The incident was condemned by the opposition who attacked the BJP over the issue, sharing alleged photos of Tyagi with senior saffron party leaders, including its national chairman JP Nadda.
