ICYM Bangalore elects new young leaders for the Archdiocese

Bengaluru: The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Archdiocese of Bangalore elected new officers for the year 2021-2023 on November 27, 2021 at Palana Bhavana, Bangalore. His Grace Archbishop Peter Machado – Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Bangalore blessed the newly elected office bearers and urged them to be servant leaders serving those in need, especially the youth.

The Archdiocese comprising 134 parishes spread across 6 districts of Karnataka had the LEAD (Leadership Enhancement and Ardent Discipleship) program a month ago where two young representatives from each parish elected the members of the Diocesan Executive Committee of ICYM.

The officers were elected from the executive committee as follows:

Male Representative in Karnataka Region – Mr. Nevin Antony (Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Rajarajeshwari Nagar)
Female Representative in Karnataka Region – Ms. Jennifer (Kristha Krupalaya Church, Veerabhadra Nagar)
Diocesan Youth President – ​​Mrs. Navya Spoorthi. B (St. Pius X Church, Kammanahalli)
Diocesan Youth Vice-President – ​​Mr. Vijay Mathias M (Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Halasuru)
Diocesan Youth Secretary – Mr. Cynith Antony Lobo (Church of Nativity, Vidyaranyapura)
Diocesan Youth Spokesperson – Mr. Manoj Thomas (St. Anthony Church, Yadavanahalli)
Diocesan Secretary of Young Media – Mr. Nithin Antony Carlo (Church of Our Lady of Good Health, Jigani)
Diocesan Youth Treasurer – Mr. Ebin S (Christha Prabhalaya Church, Jayanagar)
Diocesan Joint Secretary of Youth – Mrs. Nancy Pavithra A (St. Peters Church, Rustambagh)
Diocesan Youth Sports Secretary – Mr. Vishal A (St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church, Singasandra)
Diocesan Secretary for Youth Culture Mr. Infant Kevin A (St John the Evangelist Church, JC Nagar)
Diocesan Secretary of Youth Liturgy – Mr. Maria Louis (Child Jesus Sanctuary Viveknagar)

The LEAD program attended by 220 young representatives from different parishes testified to the unity of Catholic youth in the Archdiocese of Bangalore. Rev. Gabriel Christy, coordinator of pastoral commissions for the archdiocese, presided over the ceremony. A preparatory session for SYNOD 2023 convened by His Holiness Pope Francis on the theme “Communion, Participation, Mission” raised awareness of the universality of the Catholic Church and the need to contribute our best to the realization of the mission from the church.

Rev. Lourduraj – Karnataka Regional Youth Director was the main guest of the farewell program. He distributed prizes for the annual video report presentation contest held in the Archdiocese. The program was coordinated by the outgoing Diocesan Executive Committee of ICYM who expressed their feelings of gratitude to the Archdiocese for the opportunity given to them to serve the youth of the Archdiocese.
