Ahead of the 2023 general election, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate in the Lagos Central Senatorial District, Yomi Idowu, said his tenure, if given the opportunity, would be for empowerment and youth development.

Idowu, who made the pledge while delivering his speech at a public meeting organized by the Campaign for Transformative Governance (CFTG) at the Marquee Hall of the National Arts Theatre, Iganmu in Lagos, said he was more aware youth issues. in the country, hence the need for the public to empower them to face the situation headlong.

Furthermore, he said he would stand up for good governance.

adding that relevant laws to secure people’s rights and redirect their thinking that the government is still functioning, will be implemented if put in place.

In addition, the senatorial candidate also pledged to advocate for 50% of the National Assembly’s allocation for the modernization of colleges of education, while pushing for restructuring in the direction of regional governance. and the uniformity of admission thresholds in federal and state universities.

In his response to voters’ concerns over the high cost of governance, he promised to push for a return to regional government as a way out of the unnecessary cost of governance.
