LG calls on young people in Jammu and Kashmir to eliminate terrorism – Jammu Kashmir Latest News | Tourism


SRINAGAR, May 21: Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha on Saturday said terrorism is the gravest threat to peace and prosperity as he called on youths to actively isolate the organizations and individuals “offering shelter and support to the enemy of mankind”.
Sinha administered the Anti-Terrorism Pledge to senior officials – Deputy Commissioners and Senior Superintendents of Police here at Raj Bhavan to mark Anti-Terrorism Day, an official said.
“Terrorism is the most serious threat to peace and prosperity. On Anti-Terrorism Day, let us resolve to eliminate terrorism and its ecosystem. I reaffirm our strong commitment to maintaining peace and harmony and defeating the forces of disruption that threaten human lives,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
“No one will be allowed to create trouble in Jammu and Kashmir. We must unite our efforts to demolish the terrorist activities and motivated propaganda carried out across the border. The society, especially the youth, should work actively to isolate organizations and individuals who harbor and support the enemy of humanity,” the Lieutenant Governor added.
The Lieutenant Governor also paid tribute to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives to defend the unity and territorial integrity of the country.
The day is observed to raise awareness of the danger of terrorism and violence and its effects on the people, society and the country as a whole. (UNITED)
