JAMMU, September 28: Arnia Police distributed volleyball kits to young people to engage them in the sport in the RS Pura border belt here today.
As part of an ongoing effort to maintain local order, a program was held at Arnia Police Station. The program was attended by young people from different Panchayats in Arnia.
The program was organized under the leadership of SHO Arnia Police Station, Inspector Sumeet Sharma and assisted by PSI Mohd Ilyas under the leadership of SDPO RS Pura, Surinder Singh, SP Headquarters Ramnish Gupta and SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli.
During the program, young people were made aware of the various aspects of drug abuse and their harmful effects on health, family and society.
While speaking, SHO Inspector Arnia Sumeet Sharma motivated the youths to divert their energy by participating in sports activities organized by J&K Police and other associations. He added that the J&K Police also organizes various sports activities to engage young people in sports.
On this occasion, five volleyball kits were also distributed to the five volleyball teams of the different Panchayats.
Border Police Station (BPP) Chief Treva, PSI Divanshu, BPP Chief Ala, SI Jaipal and BPP Chief Sai, ASI Purshotam were also present during the event.
