Rajasthan’s Bhilwara seethes after youth murdered


Tension gripped the Rajasthan town of Bhilwara after a 22-year-old Hindu was allegedly stabbed by a youth from the Muslim community, prompting authorities to suspend the internet in the area until Thursday. Police personnel have been massively deployed in the area as Vishwa Hindu Parishad and other right-wing groups like Hindu Jagran Manch announced a “bandh” (strike) on Wednesday.

The murder which took place on Tuesday evening in the Kotawali police station area is believed to be related to a personal dispute. Sources said some people argued over money near Brahmani Sweets in Shastri Nagar area. During the scuffle, some youths attacked 22-year-old Adarsh ​​Tapadia with knives and seriously injured him. Tapadia was taken to the district official but was pronounced dead by doctors.

As soon as the news spread, leaders from several organizations gathered at the hospital, including Bhilwara City MLA Vitthal Shankar Awasthi, BJP District Chairman Ladu Lal Teli and chairman of the city council, Rakesh Pathak.

Refusing to cremate the body, Mahesh Khotani, Adarsh ​​Tapadia’s maternal uncle demanded justice. He said no family member would release the body from the hospital until the attackers were arrested. Various organizations condemned the murder and accused the district administration of it.

According to the report in Amar Ujala, the deceased’s father, Omprakash Tapadia was a Bhilwara history leafter. who is dead. Three defendants in the case, all minors, have been detained so far, an official told News18.

Police have also barricaded the area as tension simmers. The report quotes a BJP leader as saying that the family of the deceased should receive compensation of Rs 50 lakh.

“This shameful incident is an eye opener for the police administration as well as the government,” Vitthal Awasthi said.
