Youths seen falling 30ft while climbing Srinivasa Sagara Dam wall


In an unfortunate incident, a youth attempting to climb the wall of Srinivasa Sagara Dam in Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka fell straight to the ground from a height of 30ft, landing directly on water. In a video that has gone viral on social media, the man can be seen climbing as people around him try to convince him to come down.

However, after climbing almost halfway, the man’s foot slipped and he fell to the ground after losing his balance on the watery surface. Locals and tourists who were gathered at the spot can be heard screaming after witnessing the horrific incident. The incident happened on Sunday.

The man was seriously injured in the incident and was immediately rushed to a hospital in Bengaluru for treatment.

According to the latest reports, the youths, from Gauribidanur taluk in Chikkaballapur district, went to climb the wall even after opposition from the dam administration. He was clearly instructed not to climb the walls of Srinivasa Sagara Dam.

On top of that, people nearby also opposed his efforts, but he violated orders and paid no attention to anyone’s demands. Local police have now registered a complaint against the youth for breaching administration orders and restrictions.

It is pertinent to mention here that Srinivasa Sagara Dam is a popular tourist spot and an influx of visitors is recorded regularly, however, being a risky area, people have been clearly instructed to avoid any kind of risk or of adventure. on-site activities.
